Positive Effects Of Video Games
When most parents think of video games, they don’t tend to think of the positive effects of video games. With the way technology continues to grow, they have found out ways to make video gaming positively impact our culture. Years ago it seemed video games were designed specifically for children, with no type of interaction what so ever. However, this has changed drastically games are now designed to appeal to everyone across generations. Games are no longer just for kids anymore, parents and grandparents can enjoy them since so many of the video games now are good for exercising, and just having good family fun. Within the last few years the positive games have been the most influential games, such as The Wii, Dance Revolution, Rock Band,Brain Age, and even still all Mario games.
It is important to remember the positive effects of video games, rather than just always thinking of all of the negative. Some of the most controversial issues with video games are that they make us fat and are seen as too violent. Majority of people tend to believe that video games have led to more obesity in our children. If we look at the bigger picture, we should see that this is not true, but this is how most people think. We have to really understand that gaming is not the problem to that issue, it is actually the lifestyle that is led. It is very important to have an open mind to other alternatives to the gaining of the weight. When it comes to parents concern about the violence in video games, this is the responsibility of the parents to become more strict and monitor what their children are playing at all times.
So many games are now focused on group playing, this is great since having to work together really encourages socializing. Parents can even get involved and play with our children, this is great fun family interaction. In addition to that there are so many games that help increase eye coordination, problem solving abilities, and of course physical fitness. Especially with the Wii, if we want to encourage fitness in our children there is no better gaming console, there are so many games for aerobic exercise, stretches, and even yoga lessons. With the many new positive effects of video games, we can’t keep thinking of how they used to be because times are changing and they are changing for the better!
