Bedwetting Solutions

No child wants to wet their bed, But it is clear that for millions of children this still a major problem that they have to face each and every night. Finding the right Bedwetting solutions are the only key to eliminate this stressful and embarrassing aspect of their lives. For a child that has bed wetting issues they consider this an embarrassment, a big secret, and a huge problem.

While this is something that both girls and boys may experience it is more common in boys, and for the children that are dealing with this you are not alone as many other kids are quietly dealing with this same issue. Nocturnal enuresis, the medical term for nighttime bed-wetting, is actually more common among school-age kids than you might think. How can we help our children to overcome this so they can enjoy being a child, and not have to deal with the guilt of continuously wetting the bed?
For most kids, the problem is neurological. The child’s brain isn’t sending signals to their bladder to hold their urine while their sleeping. The bladder and brain need to communicate in order, as the bladder fills with urine it will send a signal to the brain alerting it that it is almost full. During this time the brain will understand this signal but will not do anything until the brain actually wakes them up to go to the bathroom.

A Few Different Bedwetting Solutions will usually fix the problem:

  • Try not to let your child drink too much- Any drinking before 3 to 4pm is okay, but after this time it is best for them to drink  much less and try not to let them drink at all after 8pm. Also we don’t want to let them drink too much soda since it actually produce more urine.
  • Make them use the bathroom before bed-This is help with eliminating any fluids that may be in their bladder, so it gives a better chance of them not wetting the bed.
  • Try a Bed Alarm- This can help as well as it will wake them up and force them to use the bathroom and get rid of any urine that is left in their bladder.
  •  See a doctor-If none of these solutions are working, or for those that are older and are still having bed wetting issues seeing a doctor can help to figure out if it is due to a medical conditions.
  • Try not to result to using diapers or pads for them at night- this will only make them think that this is okay and it will only make it even harder for them to get past wetting the bed in the future. Try to tackle it down as early as possible.

For young people who are still struggling, hang in there. You’re not alone, and you will grow out of the condition and once you do you will know how great it will feel!
